His Excellency the Secretary- General of The Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal) Dr. Mansour Alshammari, received at the center’s headquarters in Riyadh on Thursday April 14, 2022 His Excellency the Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Abdullah Mohamed Nour. During the meeting, His Excellency the Sercretary-General of Etidal hold talks on the means of common collaboration in combating extremism. The Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Republic of Somalia was also briefed on Etidal’s efforts and mechanisms in monitoring, analysis, techniques used, and models that are being developed to dismantle extremist discourses. At the end of the visit, His Excellency the Minister of Internal Security of the Federal Republic of Somalia took memorial photos with His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Center, Dr. Mansour Al-Shammari, while the two parties exchanged souvenirs. The Somalian Minister stated that “Thank you very much; it was my pleasure to visit the Center., it is true that the center was launched five years ago, but the level of work you are doing is very amazing, as if you have been doing it for 50 years. We in Somalia believe that having a center like this is necessary. We have suffered from extremist ideology for 20 years, and we appreciate what you are doing.”
