The management of the Telegram platform has valued its partnership with the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal) regarding the prevention and combatting of extremist and terrorist propaganda.
Telegram highlighted on its official website that, since 2022, it has significantly intensified its efforts in collaboration with Etidal. It added that, through their joint efforts, over 100 million extremist contents have been removed, emphasizing in its annual review that “There is no place for incitement to violence or terrorist propaganda on Telegram.”
It is worth noting that on February 21, 2022, both parties elevated their level of cooperation in removing extremist and terrorist content. Their joint efforts primarily focus on strengthening frameworks to protect communities from extremist propaganda by monitoring and removing extremist content and closing channels affiliated with terrorist organizations on the Telegram platform.
