His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal), Dr. Mansour Al-Shammari, received the Political Counselor at the US Embassy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Brian Schutt at the center’s headquarters in Riyadh, on Wednesday, 23 Feb 2022.
During the meeting, the Secretary-General of Etidal, Dr. Mansour Al-Shammari, reviewed ways to enhance joint cooperation in combating extremist ideology.
The political Counselor at the US Embassy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia also toured the Command and Control Department, during which he was briefed on Etidal’s efforts, mechanisms, techniques, and models that are being developed at the center to dismantle extremist discourses.
At the end of the visit, the Political Counselor at the US Embassy in Saudi Arabia, Dr. Brian Schott, took souvenir photos with His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Center, Dr. Mansour Al-Shammari, while the two parties exchanged souvenirs.
Brian Schutt made a media statement in which he said, “I would like to thank Dr. Mansour Al-Shamry and thank you for allowing the visit to see the center. What you do is an important matter, and I have noticed that you are engaged in this work, which unfortunately the world needs now, the more we monitor and understand the mind and extremist ideology, the more we can confront it more.”
