Secretary-General of (Etidal) Receives the Extraordinary Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia

The Secretary-General of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal), Dr. Mansour Al-Shammari, received the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdulaziz Ahmed at the center’s headquarters in Riyadh, on Wednesday, 26 Jan 2022. The two parties discussed a number of topics of common interest in confronting the threat of extremist ideology.

During the visit, the ambassador was briefed on the work strategies of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal), and toured the command and control department, during which he was acquainted with the monitoring and analysis mechanism, the techniques used, and the models that are being built and developed within the center.

Before leaving the center, the guest also took souvenir photos, while gifts were exchanged between His Excellency the Secretary-General of (Etidal) Dr. Mansour Al- Shammari, and His Excellency the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Dr. Abdulaziz Ahmed, who made a media statement in which he said: “We express our many thanks and gratitude for the warm reception from His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal), and we hope for more cooperation between the two sides, and we are very impressed with this center and its very friendly staff, hoping that the information we have obtained will be used as a basis for further cooperation, and we will seek to achieve cooperation between (Etidal) and the National Counter Terrorism Agency in Indonesia and Islamic organizations in Indonesia to develop the concepts of moderate Islam, which we discussed with His Excellency the Secretary-General and it has many meanings and needs more cooperation to formulate it, and through the principles we agreed upon, we can develop joint programs between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Indonesia.”
