Dr. Mansour Alshammari, Secretary-General of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal), received William Elischer, Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy, at the Center’s headquarters in Riyadh on Tuesday 19th October 2021.
During the reception, Mr. William was briefed on the Center’s work mechanism and its efforts in combating and in refuting extremist ideology.
At the end of the visit, the Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia took souvenir photos with Dr. Mansour Alshammari, Secretary-General at the Center. After that, Dr. Mansour Alshammari presented Mr. William Elischer, Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with a souvenir gift. Following that, Mr. William Elischer made a statement: “The Center has without a doubt the most impressive counter violence setup. It is well in advance of anything I’ve come across before, and I’m very excited by its potential to help both Saudi Arabia, the region and the world. I think that there is a great amount that we can learn from this Center, both in the scientific sense, but also a better understanding of how we can work better with the Islamic world, in particularly talking with our own Islamic communities in Australia, because Saudi Arabia is such a thought leader in all of these things”.
