His Excellency Dr. Mansour Al-Shammari, Secretary General of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal), welcomed His Excellency Ambassador Johan Verkammen, Special Envoy for the Middle East at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belgium, in the presence of Ms. Clémence Dejonckheere, Deputy Head of Mission at the Embassy of Belgium in Saudi Arabia, today, Monday, December 15, 2025, at the Center’s headquarters in Riyadh.
During the visit, they discussed topics of common interest and ways to enhance cooperation in combating extremist ideology.
The delegation was briefed on Etidal’s efforts in the digital, ideological, and media spheres to combat extremist ideology. Furthermore, they were reviewed on the Center’s initiatives and international partnerships that supports the promotion of moderation, coexistence, and countering extremist ideology.
