Dr. Mansour Alshammari, Secretary-General of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal), has received Mr. Christian Ritscher, Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General, and Head of the United Nations Investigative Team to Promote Accountability for Crimes Committed by Da’esh (UNITAD), on Tuesday March 8, 2022, at the Center’s HQ in Riyadh. The two sides discussed a number of mutual subjects that are in regards to confronting the danger of extremist ideology.
During the visit, Mr. Christian Ritscher took a tour in the Command and Control Center, where he was briefed on Etidal’s work strategies, in addition to the monitoring and analysis mechanism, the techniques used, and the models developed and built within the Center. Before leaving the center, the guest took souvenir photos, while gifts were exchanged between the Secretary-General of Etidal Dr. Mansour Al-Shammari, and the Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General, and Head of the (UNITAD), Mr. Christian Ritscher, who made a statement to the media in which he said, “It is really impressive to see work has been done here. I am impressed by the technology you are using and the results you are achieving. I am sure that there are areas of possible cooperation between the global center and (UNITAD), and I am looking forward to improve this cooperation, thank you.”
