The Secretary-General of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal) Dr. Mansour Al-Shammari, received at the center’s headquarters in Riyadh today (Monday) May 16, 2022, the European Union Counter-Terrorism Coordinator, Mr. Elka Salmi, and during the meeting, ways to enhance joint cooperation in Combating Extremist Ideology were reviewed.
The European Union Counter-Terrorism Coordinator, during his visit, toured the command and control department at the center, during which he was acquainted with (Etidal) mechanisms in monitoring and analysis, and the most prominent techniques and models that are being built and developed within the center. He also took photos with His Excellency the Secretary-General Center Dr. Mansour Al-Shammari.
At the end of the visit, the European Union Counter-Terrorism Coordinator, Mr. Elka Salmi, and His Excellency the Secretary-General of (Etidal) Dr. Mansour Al-Shammari, exchanged souvenirs, while Mr. Salmi made a statement in which he said, “First of all, thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to see and visit your center, and I am very impressed with the work you are doing,” adding, “I think it is very important in this era to have a mechanism to monitor extremist content on the internet the way you do, I will definitely address this with my colleagues in Brussels and The Hague and we will see what we can do together, I really look forward to strengthening our partnership with you.”
