His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology (Etidal), Dr. Mansour Al-Shammari welcomed the Head of UK’s Counter Terrorism Network for Asia and Oceania, Mr. Chris Felton, on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at the Center’s headquarters in Riyadh. During the meeting, they discussed aspects of joint cooperation.
The head of UK’s Counter Terrorism Network for Asia and Oceania and his accompanying delegation were briefed about Etidal’s strategies in monitoring and combating extremist content and reducing its effects on society, in addition to community initiatives and international partnerships.
The delegation was also briefed about the joint efforts achieved between Etidal and Telegram in combating extremist content by deleting more than 75 million extremist content over three years of cooperation.
At the end of the visit, His Excellency, the Secretary-General of Etidal, Dr. Mansour Al-Shammari presented Etidal’s memorial shield as a souvenir to the head of UK’s Counter Terrorism Network for Asia and Oceania, Mr. Chris Felton.
